Tips for the Mediterranean
West or East Med?
West Med is often easier by air (Barcelona, Palma). East Med and Aegean usually need longer travel but reward with islands and antiquity.
Plan peak season
July/August are full and hot. May/June and September/October are often nicer – and ports less crowded.
Port ≠ city centre
At Civitavecchia or Piraeus plan transfer times. In Barcelona and Palma city and beach are often closer.
