AIDA shareholder benefits

Anyone holding at least 100 shares of Carnival Corporation (or Carnival plc) can, under conditions, apply for onboard credit on AIDA cruises. The programme is a group shareholder benefit – not an AIDA loyalty programme and not investment advice.

As of: August 2026 (orientation, without guarantee).

What you can get

The onboard credit applies per cabin (not per person), is not paid out and cannot be exchanged for cash. Casino credits and tips are typically excluded.

AIDA / continental Europe (orientation per Carnival)

from 14 days€200

Requirements

At least 100 Carnival shares. For new AIDA bookings since mid-2025 only Comfort and Premium fares (or Comfort All In / Premium All In and successors) qualify – Light/Classic without shareholder credit.

Excluded include staff rates, agency discounts, interline and other heavily reduced rates. Only one credit per cabin.

  • Prove shareholding before sailing (currently via Stockperks)
  • Submit the application at latest about three weeks before departure
  • Per Carnival currently for sailings until 31 Dec 2026 – extensions are common but not guaranteed

How to apply for the credit

The classic depot-statement upload in myAIDA has largely been replaced by the Stockperks app: validate portfolio, choose brand AIDA, link the booking. Carnival/AIDA then checks eligibility; on approval the credit appears on the onboard account.

Plan buffer – missing the three-week deadline often means losing the claim for that sailing entirely.

Is buying shares only for the onboard credit worth it?

Mathematically the credit can complement dividend/price moves on regular Comfort/Premium cruises – but shares can fall to total loss. Anyone buying only for €40–200 onboard credit without understanding the risks should not.

This is not investment advice. Conditions, app process and fare names can change at short notice – check Carnival Shareholder Benefit and myAIDA before booking.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is one share enough for the onboard credit?

No. Carnival requires at least 100 shares. Fewer is not enough – not even pro rata.

  • Do I get the credit in Light or Classic fares?

For new bookings since mid-2025 generally no. Eligible are Comfort and Premium bookings (incl. All In variants). Check exact fare names in the booking path.

  • How do I prove shareholding?

Currently via the Stockperks app (portfolio validation). myAIDA points there. Old pure email/PDF paths have largely gone.

  • Does this also apply to Costa or other Carnival brands?

Yes, the Shareholder Benefit applies group-wide with regionally different amounts (USD/EUR/GBP/AUD). AIDA and Costa sit in the continental European tier.
